Nationalism and the Creation of Italy

Nationalism is a sentiment, a form of culture or a social movement that focuses on the nation.Nationalism is what show pride to your country and that .It brings people together as one, as a nation. Alot of people celebrate holidays such as our independence day, July 4th fireworks happen only on that special day. I am being a nationalist by participating and celebrating in all the holidays like Halloween thanksgiving, or Christmas is showing that you take part in nationalism. Also by just simply just saying the Pledge of Allegiance every morning in school shows nationalism. Showing respectfor your country is showing nationalism to your country.

Italy is a example that is perfect for nationalism because nationalism is wat created Italy and brought the people to form a nation. Before Italy was a nation it was ruled by many people because it was divided in to many different empires.time passed and passed then people did not like thir leaders and they wanted to change their ways of living. so they formed a group that was called young Italy and it was orgainized by a guy named Giuseppe Mazzini. Camillo di Cavour another leader that helped lead Italy towards the act of nationalism. Also with the help of Napolean the third they went to war to fight against Austria and were victorious on taking over all of northern Italy. Giuseppe Garibaldia a leaders that helped Italy out. He led a group of army called the Red Shirts and helped out on uniting the southern part of Italy. Because of this brave man and their actions, Italy became one, with the leaders and all the other people taking part in the quest.

John Locke and the Enlightenment

The "Rights" that Jefferson is talking about the qoute "all mean are created equally. He is talking about that everyone should be treated the same. Every one should have and together they form the whole group and no more discrimination to people.

The declaration of independence says that the government from the people. We are the ones that decide how the government should be and who they should be.The goverment gets his power from the people.John locke was the one that developed this ideas and who gathered ideas for the perfect government from enlightenment thinkers.
