Opium Wars - Imperialism in China

The Opium war is also known as the angle Chinese war. The Opium War began in China, the British wanted China's tea but they didn't want to trade with the British.It was a war that took place because of a drug. The Chinese found that drug very addictive and they wanted it but they new that the others would not give it up.Since the British were the ones trading it with the China and for them to get Opium they had to trade tea.Then the government didn't like the idea of trading tea with the British for tea so the government decided that whoever trades with the British for the drug would be killed.So then the British new that china was the only ones that had the tea. so they threw the port to get to the tea. so then the British used war to get the drug. They used the war because they had good equipment and technology to over run the Chinese and because of that they won. so then the British decided to make the Chinese sign a treaty called the "Treaty of Nanjing" but the Chinese did not want to sign it so they decided to go to war again and like before the British won again.Which made the British have more power.

film lesson: mountains of the moon

In the movie " Mountain of The Moon" the hardship that the mans had. It is about two English explorers traveled down the middle of Africa where no white men have traveled before.Searching on their expedition the source of the Nile river. On there search they also took along some African men to help them on their expedition and on that some African Americans starting dieing because of the malaria some of them caught on their traveling.Then later on in the movie one of them killed him self because of how he and his partner disagreed on many things.They have been through a lot during those seven months like they seen the king and also had been through night robberes like in the nights they have been robbed so then like some of the African Americans could not take it anymore they just decided to leave. Also others did from starvation or from the water infection there was in the water. They named the source of the of the Nile river lake Victoria because they named it after there queen on a African territory. The primary technological advantage that Europeans had over African people because Europe conquered the Africans.The Europeans were able to conquer the African Americans because of the guns and like they had never seen guns it was easy for the Europeans to conquer them

Imperalisim project

The global project was for us to learn about imperialism the world and how each countries try to take other colonies to have
this projects was for us to see how different countries took over other countries so they have more land and countries how Europe.
We had to countries in the map and label them with the goods they had in their country. We had to labeled the European countries and the countries they have colonized in. because they wanted more resources for their factories that this is the reason why Europeans started exploring and colonizing in different countries around the world.
